COME ONE, COME ALL TO THE LOBSTERFEST

Here’s an event you can sink your teeth in, a LOBSTERFEST in Tolland CT.  Circle the date September 11th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Crandall Pavilion.  It is easy to find at 64 Cider Mill Road in picturesque Crandall Park.

Bring your appetite because this event is a culinary delight, featured on the menu is of course lobster or as an alternative main course steak, add to that steamed clams, clam chowder, corn, potatoes and beer, wine and soda.  Wow what an afternoon!  This is a family event with special free activities for the children like arts and crafts, face painting and free hot dogs!

Lobsterfest is an annual event and has gained an excellent reputation as being well attended and well run.  It is sponsored by the Tolland Republican Town Committee and also serves as an opportunity to help those in need with donations of canned goods being collected for the local food bank.

There will be opportunities to win raffle prizes and of course great conversation and good times.  Candidates for public office will also be attending to provide you with a chance to meet and greet them and ask some questions.

Discount tickets are available in advance at the cost of $30.00 per person if paid by 9/8 tickets and tickets purchased after that date will be $35.00.  Reservations are easy to make by phone or email.

SPECIAL FAMILY FUN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE BIG E

New this year you and your children can be a costumed reveler on a Mardi Gras float and toss beads to fairgoers on the Big E parade route.  For those of you unfamiliar with the Big E, it has become the 8th largest fair in the country and is located in West Springfield Mass.  This year the fair will run from September 17 until October 3rd.

The Big E Mardi Gras Parade, which was introduced in 2000, returns to The Big E with eight custom-made floats specially designed and built by the Kern Companies of New Orleans: the Boeuf Gras (Fatted Calf); Island Party; Caribbean Carnival; Carnival in Rio; Carneval di Venice; Mardi Gras New Orleans; and our African-themed and Patriotic floats! Marching bands, Big E contingents, animals and more march in The Big E Grande Parade. Look for three spectacular parades Monday-Friday, and a combined Mardi Gras and Daily Parade Saturday-Sunday.

FAMILY FUN JULY 10TH BLUEBERRY FEST AND PIE CONTEST

Summer fun for the entire family this weekend as the Vernon Blueberry Fest awaits your arrival.  Kids can ride the always colorful and exciting Blueberry Express Kiddie Train.  Mom gets a chance to enter the Blueberry Pie Baking Contest with an opportunity to win a $50.00 gift certificate for a local restaurant.  Dad will love the idea, admission is FREE and the food  reasonable and of course includes fresh blueberry dessert.
