The rain of the day may have an impact on a group of people that give much to the community of Coventry.  I am talking about the Coventry Garden Club.  Today is their annual plant sale on the Coventry Town Green however the rain may put a damper on activity.

Let’s see some community support for the fine folks that turn an easel of earth into a beautiful gateway garden to Coventry each year.  If you can not make it to the plant sale perhaps you can contact them through their Facebook page known as Coventry Garden Club.

Opining Quill is not authorized or affiliated with the Coventry Garden Club but I can tell you they meet at 7pm on the second Tuesday of the month at the Presbyterian Church of Coventry, located at 55 Trowbridge Road.  According to their Facebook page potential new members and guests are always welcome.

They toil the soil to make our Coventry Town Green a showplace of natural beauty and the rain on this special event may impact their success so the Opining Quill is asking you to support the garden club this weekend.  If you can’t make it to the sale perhaps you can contact them on Facebook or at their meeting.

Tomorrow Opining Quill will have a very special salute for Mother’s Day please come back

  1. Just want to say what a great blog you got here!
I’ve been around for quite a lot of time, but finally decided to show my appreciation of your work!

Thumbs up, and keep it going!

  2. Thank you for your kind words! The rain was definitely a factor this year, or perhaps it was the economy? Anyway, we’ll be back next year.
Look for Coventry Garden Club members at their booth at the Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market at the Hale Homestead on Sunday June 13, from 11 to 2. Bring the kids to plant “transformers” with them.

I have been a member of the Coventry Garden Club for more than 10 year and have loved all it is. The members are very sweet. The knowledge I have aquired is beyond what I expected. The pain I get from maintaining the Garden on the Green is rewarded every time I pass by and admire the beauty. Thank you Coventry Garden Club
