TIPPER TALK OR “TRASH TALK” YOU DECIDE AND HAVE A VOICE

Today the term “trash talk” is synonymous with insulting language.  Many citizens in Coventry that watched the last Town Council meeting consider some of the discussion to be “trash talk”.  Some citizens have called some remarks arrogant.  You can be the judge for yourself here are some quotes from the minutes of that meeting;

Mr. Zenko, “over the past few years the Town has elected a Democratic majority 12 out of 14 times. We must be doing something right.”

Mr. Hall, “This is also not the most important issue before the Town. We have a serious situation with the Public Works garage. Mr. Williams lost the vote and is a sore loser. The poll was not secure. This is wasting people’s time.”

Mr. Vinkels, “said he feels he represents a particular portion of the Town. He can’t represent everyone. If we could then we wouldn’t need a Council.

    Seems to me that this needs to be a bipartison issue and it is not. I get the feeling that one side has made up their minds and sees the issue as a Republican initiative instead of a town topic. Maybe it is time to defer a decision and set up a committee? The only people I know in town that like the green bags, are not even using them!
