Appreciate That Which Is Yours

Ah the beauty of the day.  As the season changes from spring to summer and the morning sun brings forth a day of warmth, it is easy to miss the beauty of it all as we rush off along our way.

On a day like this I am reminded of the words of Ravindra Kumar Karnani

“The child whispered, “God, speak to me”
And a meadow lark sang.
The child did not hear.
So the child yelled, “God, speak to me!”
And the thunder rolled across the sky
But the child did not listen.
The child looked around and said,
“God let me see you” and a star shone brightly
But the child did not notice
And the child shouted,
“God show me a miracle!”
And a life was born but the child did not know.
So the child cried out in despair,
“Touch me God, and let me know you are here!”
Whereupon God reached down
And touched the child.
But the child brushed the butterfly away
And walked away unknowingly.”

The beauty of life surrounds us, a gift from the creator.  Protect it, appreciate it, and most importantly share it and enjoy this day, it will never come again.

Sometimes we learn our lessons later in life. It seems as though when we are young we do not appreciate what is ours. We need to teach our children to learn that the lessons we are trying to teach them, we ourselves did not listen when we were young. But as long as we do learn these lessons, no matter our age, it is something we will appreciate the rest of our lives.
